Uncharitable Judgement

"The more sure we are of someone else's heart motive, the more likely we are uncharitably judging them."  --  Bob Kauflin

Proverbs 28:26
Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool,
but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered.

Mark Twain on parenting...

"Things run along pretty smoothly until your kid reaches thirteen. That’s the time you need to stick ‘em in a barrel, hammer the lid down nice and snug, and feed ‘em through the knothole. And then, about the time he turns sixteen, plug up the knothole!"  ---  Mark Twain

On Haiti

I'm sure, by now, everyone knows about the horrible earthquake that recently occurred in Haiti. The pain and devastation is sobering. The destruction and cost of life may turn out to be the equivalent of a thousand 9/11s

In light of all this, what do you do with Pat Robertson's recent statement; that Haiti is under a curse for the pact it made with the devil, some 200 years ago?

Some intelligent remarks and responses have been offered:

Last night, our PC class posted that question to CJ Mahaney. I didn't get his remarks written down word-for-word, but it was something akin to this: Our response to the tragedy in Haiti should be one of sorrow; our hearts should go out. Personally, our response ought to be one of amazement; that we weren't the one swallowed up in an earthquake. In light of God's holiness and our sinfulness, it is only amazing grace that we stand here alive today with hope for tomorrow.

There are many charities mobilizing to bring aid to Haiti. Sovereign Grace Ministries is joining in on the effort
